Becoming "Green"

So....I've been thinking alot about going "Green" lately. I have started my search on finding the best home cleaners for my family. I hate that everytime I clean my tub, I then have to rinse it over and over again. It still worries me, and I hate the thought of flushing all the chemicals that will eventually become our drinking water. So, if anyone knows the best product that I should be buying to help my family and the environment, please let me know.
